Maliwan (Alternative Rock)

เกิดจากสมาชิกในวงเป็นเพื่อนกันมาก่อน โดยสมาชิกแรกเริ่มมี 4 คน ได้แก่ โน๊ต (มือกลอง) เป็นเพื่อนกับ เน (ร้องนำ) มาตั้งแต่เด็ก ส่วนยีน (มือเบส) กับท็อป (อดีตมือกีตาร์) เป็นเพื่อนที่เคยประกวดดนตรีด้วยกัน

แรกเริ่มคือเราได้มีงานเล่นดนตรีขึ้นปีใหม่หอพัก โดยท็อปเลยมาชวนยีนมาเล่นเบส แล้วชวนโน๊ตมาทำเล่นกลอง แต่ยังขาดนักร้อง โน๊ตเลยบอกว่ามีเพื่อนคนนึงพึ่งกลับมาอยู่จังหวัดเลย ชื่อเน เป็นนักร้อง มารวมวงกัน รวมกันแบบงง ๆ เลย พอเริ่มได้วงแล้ว ก็มีโอกาสได้ไปเล่นดนตรียามค่ำคืนด้วยกันสักพักนึง วันนึงเลยพูดขึ้นมาว่า “กูเขียนเพลงนะ กูอยากทำเพลง” เพื่อน ๆ คนอื่นเลยบอกว่า “เอาดิ ลองดู” จึงเลยลองทำเพลงแรกที่มีชื่อว่า “อย่าบอกลา”

ทำเพลงไปสักระยะ ตอนนั้นก็รู้ละว่าตัวเองอยากทำแบบไหน ช่วงนั้นยอมรับเลยว่าอินฟัง Freehand แล้วก็มีงานแรกที่ได้เล่นคืออีสานเขียว ตอนนั้นคือเอาเพลงที่ยังไม่ได้ปล่อยไปเล่นกัน แล้วคนฟังตอบรับเราดีมาก เลยรู้สึกว่าควรไปต่อ จึงเกิดเป็นเพลงที่สอง “หมากฝรั่ง” ไม่นาน ท็อปก็ได้ขอตัวออกไปตามทางของตัวเอง เราเลยคิดว่าสามคนก็ไปต่อ เพราะเราเลือกแล้ว

จนมาถึงปัจจุบัน Maliwan ได้อยู่ค่าย Trashlab และกำลังจะมีอัลบั้มแรกของวง ฝากติดตามด้วยนะครับ เพลงก่อนๆ เช่น “แม้เรานั้น”, “รอวันกาลลา”, “ก่อนฟ้าเปลี่ยนสี”, “ย้อนกลับ”, “แม้นานเท่าไหร่” หรือเพลงเก่าๆ ในช่องของ Maliwan

Maliwan was born out of friendship. The original lineup of four included Note (drums), who had known Nay (vocals) since childhood, and Jean (bass), who used to play in music competitions with Top (former guitarist).

The band came together almost by accident, it started when Top suggested putting a group together to play at a New Year’s event at their dorm. He brought in Jean on bass, and then asked Note to join as the drummer. They still needed a vocalist, and Note mentioned that his friend Nay had just moved back to town and was a singer. That’s how the band first came together. Somewhat randomly, but with instant chemistry.

After playing a few late-night gigs together, one of them said, “I write songs. I want to make music.” The others were immediately on board: “Let’s do it.” That led to their first track, “อย่าบอกลา” (“Don’t Say Goodbye”).

As time passed, they found their direction. At the time, they were really into listening to Freehand — and their first official gig was at Isan Kiew, where they played unreleased tracks to an unexpectedly enthusiastic crowd. That positive response pushed them forward, leading to their second single, “หมากฝรั่ง” (“Chewing Gum”).

Eventually, Top decided to leave and follow his own path. The remaining three chose to keep going, because by then, they had chosen this journey for themselves.
