WORTHLESS BOY (Alternative Rock)

WORTHLESS BOY คือวงดนตรีจากจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี 2023 โดยมีจุดเริ่มต้นจากความรู้สึกที่ว่าสิ่งที่อยากจะถ่ายทอดออกมานั้นไม่สามารถแสดงออกได้เต็มที่ในวงเดิม อย่าง RECAP จาจา นักร้องนำของวงเคยเขียนเพลงไว้ 3-4 เพลง แต่พบว่าสไตล์ของเพลงเหล่านั้นแตกต่างจากแนวทางหลักของวงเดิมมาก จึงตัดสินใจเริ่มต้นโปรเจกต์ใหม่ในชื่อ WORTHLESS BOY เขาชวน แฟร้งค์ มารับหน้าที่มือกลอง ก่อนที่ เพ่ย (มือเบส) และ ท๊อปส์ (มือกีตาร์) จะตามมาสมทบ จนครบองค์ประกอบของวงในสไตล์ Indie/Alternative Rock ที่เน้นการใช้กีตาร์เป็นแกนหลัก

ชื่อวง “WORTHLESS BOY” ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากเนื้อเพลงในเพลง Story of a Lonely Guy ของ Blink-182 ซึ่งสื่อถึงความรู้สึกหลงทาง หรือไร้คุณค่าบางช่วงเวลา แต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็ยังสามารถมองเห็นความงามในรายละเอียดเล็ก ๆ ของชีวิต แนวคิดนี้สะท้อนอยู่ในบทเพลงของวงที่เต็มไปด้วยความเศร้าปนหวัง ความไม่มั่นใจที่พยายามถูกถ่วงสมดุลด้วยความฝัน

ดนตรีของ WORTHLESS BOY ได้รับอิทธิพลจากทั้งวงอินดี้รุ่นเก่าและรุ่นใหม่ ผสมผสานเมโลดี้แบบป็อปเข้ากับเสียงกีตาร์ที่ชัดเจนและกลิ่นอายของดนตรีท้องถิ่น ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้คือเสียงดนตรีที่ทั้งสดใหม่และแฝงด้วยความคุ้นเคย ให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนได้เดินทางผ่านห้วงอารมณ์ที่หลากหลาย ทั้งโดดเดี่ยว อบอุ่น สงสัย และมีหวังไปพร้อมกันในแต่ละเพลง

WORTHLESS BOY is a band from Chiang Mai, founded in 2023. JaJa, the band’s lead vocalist, had written 3-4 songs for his previous band, RECAP, but since those songs had a different style from the band’s direction, he decided to start a new project. He invited Frank to join as the drummer, with Pei (bass) and Top (guitar) later completing the lineup. The band’s concept revolves around playing in the Indie/Alternative Rock style.

The name “WORTHLESS BOY” comes from a lyric in Story of a Lonely Guy by Blink-182. It evokes a feeling of being lost or insignificant at times, yet still finding beauty in the little moments. This reflects the themes in our music—melancholy mixed with hope, self-doubt balanced with dreams

We’re influenced by a mix of classic and modern indie/alternative rock. We have a strong passion for crafting music with guitar-driven influences that blend pop melodies and local traditional accents.
